New Age Penthouse

No, its not the penthouse mag, but rather those expensive apartments.
Anyway, these kind of "penthouse" is rather a common sight in wangsa maju.
I used to think that penthouse only availble on the top floor.
I guess i was wrong though..
These people apartments (which all of them are on the ground floor) has been reconstructed so that they hav extra rooms, bigger space for kitchen, heck some even equipped with a full fledge patio...

Malaysians, they dont even need architects to make a "better" home on their own..
Yeah, regarding safety concerns... i guess thats not in their mind as long as they hav a better home than other ppl..
And the land that they use to construct these so called penthouse?
its not even theirs to begin with..
Does MPAJ even care about these??
PS: i bet rehot can design a better penthouse than these ppl :)

Compaq=compact? NOT!

Dismantled a presario 2500 the other day as the owner claims that it tends to shut down automatically while using it.
The average time it takes before it shuts down, none given, as the owner said it varies from time to time. And it mostly happens when she plays games on it.

Normally i'd say its just the windows since thats normally the culprit unless its a desktop, then i'd might say the PSU is the 1st thing i'd check out cause normally most of PC users out there always fail to realize that PSU is a crucial device which cant be overlook in purchasing a pc.

Anyway, back to the topic. So i brought it home (the lappy) and tested myself, did a burnintest and a 3dbenchie. Both fails miserably. Next, i tried updating the ATi driver for the graphics controller. Boy, it was a challenge to find an updated driver for this bugger. It was using an ATi IGP 345M which has been deem obsolete, whereby drivers for this model has been taken off from Ati website itself.  Nonetheless, i kinda found it somewhere in the internet though.. but forgot from which webby..

Updating the video driver tend to make the lappy to be able to be use an hour or two longer than before..
So, the dismantling process is indeed inevitable. Well, i can tell u, from my experience, opening this bugger is no easy job.. Okie, maybe i'm exaggerating here.. but compared to other lappy, this one kinda hav lotsa-lotsa screws to be unscrewed just to remove the heatsinks.

Just look at the size of the heatsink.. it kinda took 1/4 of the whole notebook already.. no wonder its damn heavy!
And it does look like a space ship too :)

Anyway, after cleaning out all the dust inside, paste a new layer of thermal compound, and its done. So, we're back at the burn-in test and the 3d benchies...

Finally, all the probs hav settled. It just an overheating issues and minor driver files needed to be fix.
Btw, the 3D mark that it scored really low though.. just barely over 1000points.. cause i tried to compare with my own dell which has scored over 10k..  looks like the faster compaq which is equipped with a 2.4ghz proc with an ati video chipset has no advantage over a 1.66ghz which has a dedicated ATi graphic card..

Now.. i gotta stop  talking all these crap and go back to my other work...

Got these 2 lil guys from Paksu.
Now i've got 3 lil fishy in my room which includes the red fighting fish.

It seems like both the catfish are much more active than my F.fish.
Perhaps it has been so alone this few months that it has become bored..
Maybe i should get another one and hav a fight?
That would be nice? No?

Catfish & Permatang Pauh

Had a trip back to Permatang pauh yesterday with me sis and her husband, to visit my grandparents. It feels nice to see them again after so long. I mean, i only gets to see them once a year which is only on Aidilfitri.

Paksu has started to breed catfish as his new business.
Two pools was made to cater for the 2000 catfish that he has.
The fish were small and quite agile which made me hard to photograph them. Besides, i didnt bring along my camera to shoot anyway, all i had was my handy sony ericsson.


Anyway, before i went home, i did ask for 2 of those catfish whcih paksu gladly gave them to me.. hahahha.. yeah, i feel like i'm a 4 year old    
                                                            suddenly.

Was cruising thru a flyover on MRR2 on my dad's wira.

And suddenly, one of the steel plates which covers the small drains..

heh! i dont even know wut they call it, but anyway,

the steel plate kind of snap and rip the rear left tyre open, which then it

punch a freaking hole on the rims and flung out to oblivion..

Luckily, Mr Abd Jamil didnt freak out and demand me to pay right away..hehe

and the weird part was, he took it nicely...

well now.. where can i find a someone who could sell this rim for just one piece at a very low price? Need it ASAP!

i need a bigger working space :)

Taboh Hill @ Klang gate reservoir

Went up Taboh Hill with weck@hazwan, Junaid, Ita and Jebat on tuesday morning which is located at KLang Gate's reservoir recreational park. The mountain is kinda rocky and there were quite some time which we had to rock climbing on our way up.

Weck, my friend has insisted that we should hav a "santai" (*relax) climb instead of shooting up to the top quickly. Along the way we had several stops which each one ended up as a chatting and picnic stops..

We managed to get to the summit after a few hours. (yeah, supposely it doesnt take that long if u dont hav breaks like we did :p )

Anyway, it was a fun trip which didnt cost up much except for the nasi lemak and water.. hehehe!

Ulu Semangkuk - trekking

On 1st Feb 2007, while some people are busy watching the "carnival" that took place in batu cave, gombak... Me and a bunch of frens went up to Fraser's Hill for a jungle trekking.

More specifically, it was Mount Ulu Semangkok. just beside Gap's Rest house.

It took us around 30-40 minutes to reach the 1st summit which is Semangkuk Gap Peak.

After that, we continued our journey towards the second summit which is the Ulu Semangkuk Summit which took us about an hour to reach.

SG Congkak trip

Organized a day trip to Sungai Congkak in Ulu Langat on the 30 Jan as an activity for students of BNS (Bachelor in Networking Systems Engineering) sem 8.

A total of 19 people joined the activity, it took me a day to plan it out. Well, most of the planning was on the food though :p

Anyway, not only i was the organizer, but i also had to prepare the chics for the barbeque...  I planned to hav few guys to help me out, but it turned out none came except for weck which hav no experience in dealing with chicken matters except in eating it of course. Wut i did was, bought 6 chickens (which the seller refuse to cut it for me) then cut it into 12 pieces each, then marinate it with wutever i think is suitable.. hahahaha! It turned out fine though..

The trip was a whole lot of fun. It has been quite some time since section 1 and 2 of this course has had an activity like this together..

Now, i'm trying to think of a new enjoyable activity to organize..so...where should i plan to go next?

Ampang Look-out Point

Had a stop at the newly built look out point in ampang.

Though its not breathtaking but still quite a nice view of KL..

The place is still having some renovations though..

Hmm.. so much activities this week... Went to this place.. then sg congkak, then went to hav a climb at gunung ulu semangkuk in fraser hill..

A very tiring weekend...
