Anyway, these kind of "penthouse" is rather a common sight in wangsa maju.
I used to think that penthouse only availble on the top floor.
I guess i was wrong though..
These people apartments (which all of them are on the ground floor) has been reconstructed so that they hav extra rooms, bigger space for kitchen, heck some even equipped with a full fledge patio...
Malaysians, they dont even need architects to make a "better" home on their own..
Yeah, regarding safety concerns... i guess thats not in their mind as long as they hav a better home than other ppl..
And the land that they use to construct these so called penthouse?
its not even theirs to begin with..

Kesian diorang ekk? Ada idea, very creative. Ada duit, tahu cemmana nak spend duit. Ada tanah, sekangkang kera jer... Nak usaha cucuk tanam, tak logik...Jadi, diorang buat ler apa-apa yang patut... Tapi ntah ler... apsal diorang tak nak buat shed kereta ke apa ke untuk menjaga reta-benda? Macam ler diorang tak perasan dok kat pigeon hole... hmmm... rasanya dalam sales & purchase agreement untuk apartment takde cakap tanah di luar dinding rumah adalah hak mereka... sebab tanah tu hak developer... kalau developer izinkan buat maka buat je la kot... cuma tatau la dia follow by-law ke tak... kalau mpaj luluskan maka dia ikut la tu kot... takpun dia main belasah buat tak submit plan pun...
p/s: hiiiii... nyampahnya aku tengok roman column tu... haram tak seswai dengan exposed rafters tu...

I dont think they bothered sending in the plans. The edge of those roofs clearly extended beyond the initially installed drains.
if they did (send in the plans) dont think it'll be approve though
tapi... setback untuk apartment dikira untuk the whole development... lain sikit dari rumah teres atau banglo... sebab tu untuk apartment selalunya tak buat pagar untuk tnb substation pun takpe as long dia dalam kawasan development tu... kalau ikut by-law setback dia tak salah... cuma kalau jarak antara dinding yang di extend tu dengan dinding apartment yang berhadapan tu kurang 80kaki maka adalah salah disisi undang undang... kompem tak lepas requirement bomba mahupun mana mana authority...

hermm... at least, it is something that they could afford... nak beli rumah teres ke semi D ker, dah tak mampu kot... tambah lagi warga tua yg dah layak dpt pinjaman... bila anak bagi duit.." nah duitnya bapak renovate la rumah nie".... takpun pakai duit pencen ker..... maka tersergam indah lah tiang roman dan roofers tu... infact they are utilizing whatever sources they have as long as dierang bleh dok selesa ngan cucu n anak bini menantu semer... standard ah extension nih semer.... yes maybe they are selfish by ignoring all the safety, law and other people feeling, but isn't it a survival. To be able to provide better home for their youngs one.
beli tanah pastu design sendiri la lagi best... kengkawan ada bole tolong... caj murah je... :D
