Laksa Penang @ Asam (which is tamarind in english i think) Laksa which originates from Penang.
Laksa is actually a bowl of steamed spaghetti-sized rice vermicelli, served with ikan kembung (mackerel??) soup and its main distinguishing feature is the asam which gives the soup a sour taste. The fish is poached and then flaked. Other ingredients that is put in laksa include mint, onion, chillies, pineapples, bunga kantan (torch ginger flower), serai (lemongrass) and such.
On the left side, pics showing the rice vermicelli has been served with its soup and the right side are pics showing without :p
