Last month i received a phone call from MARA's staff informing me about this Anugerah Kecemerlangan Institut Pengajian Mara (IPMa) Dinner which is to be held on the end of June. I was like owh wut the heck.. its free dinner in Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) in KL i might just go and enjoy it..
A few days later i receive a mail regarding this matter whereby i need to reply to confirm my attendance. After checking on the exact date, then only i realised its during weekdays.. which means i need to go back early from the office coz i need to drive into KL for this function. Not only its because it was held in KL and during weekdays, wut concerns me also is that if its just another boring dinner and whether its worth it for all the troubles.. So i gave a call to the organiser and checked if they will be giving out any sort of momento or stuff during that dinner. And the phone attendee confirmed that they'll hand out gifts but she do not know what is it. So i was like.. okie.. at least i could look forward to receive some stuff.. hehehe..
Fast forward to the present.. i drove to KL at about 645pm and reached PWTC around 730pm.. Alhamdullilah.. the traffic wasnt that jam heading into KL though Kepong route. But anyway, I thought i was late since the schedule mentioned that the program starts at 730.. But as most of Malaysian functions.. it started late... so late that i was getting annoyed and prepared to go back... Well.. the lateness was because this Yg Berhormat just dont know how to manage his time.. damn you!! So the function started at 900pm.. As the performance on stage begins.. dinner was served.. Several students performed some songs which later continued by JayJay which he sang quite a number of tunes from his popular albums back in the 80's when he was still in Lefthanded (i hope i got his band rite) After that followed by the speech by the YB which lasted for almost 45minutes.. i wonder wut he was babbling about out there.. and i just couldnt care less...
Anyway.. the ceremony ended with prize giving.. and somehow they mixed up all the certificates and the gifts (which is mens and ladies watches). So the recipients had to like go around the tables to find their own cert and stuff.. coz nobody was patient enuff to wait till the ceremony really ends to change it coz it was already 11pm...
After i got mine.. i straight away left the arena.. huhuh... Anyway, there wasnt any cheque as i had hoped for (darn! UniKL is much more generous.. coz they gimme thousand bucks for the president award (refer this post : Convo 2007..for more details) huhuhu! The certificate is just normal to me.. but the watch is quite nice.. its a Seiko brand and its a bracelet type of automatic watch.. so no need the hassles of changing the battery and such.. since u know, its automatic.. :P
